Floral Decoration

Since at least 1988, St Helen's has been decorated for the Festivals by the Mickleover Floral Arranging Society.

The displays usually have a biblical theme and transform the church as each window, pillar and prominent point in the church are swathed in colour.

From last year members of the Junior Church added their own contribution to the festivities by dressing two scarecrows as part of a festival competition.

Archives

Photographic records of  St Helen's Floral displays were held on the original web site, some going as far back as 1999. It is the intention to restore these in due course.

Unfortunately, I do not have complete records of festival floral displays prior to 2003.
Can you help?.

Services:

The Blessing Service has traditionally been held at midday on the Saturday of the Well Dressing Festival by the W.I. well board next to Etta's Well.  Since about 1995, it become an Interdenominational Service led by the ministers for all the Christian congregations with responsibilities for the Etwall Community.

St Helen's modifies its normal Sunday services and welcomes festival visitors who wish to attend.
For the past few years the Breedon Hand Bell ringers have added an extra dimension to the services.
